Self-Kindness and How to Sooth Yourself

I found myself counting my blessings and finding silver-linings in all what was happening lately in the world. So how come I still became bitter and sad? Isn’t gratitude an antidote to sadness? Being sad, being depressed or even bitter does not mean you are not grateful. It does not mean you do not know the suffering of others. It simply means the wave of pain and fear have come to your door too. It is the energy the most of the world resides in and no matter how hard you try to keep the water away it is at your door.

Creating your own “self-sooth kit” is a wonderful and cute way to activate your senses to sooth your mind and body. You can have it as small or as big as you wish. You can get the cutest make up bag and fill it with goodies.

What kind of items to put in your bag? The simple rule is to involve your 5 senses: smell, sight, touch, taste, and hearing.

Take a kind minute to answer these questions to give yourself a better idea what brings joy to your heart.

What are your favorite smells?

What are your favorite sights?

What are your favorite things to touch?

What are your favorite tastes or flavors?

What are your favorite sounds?

Would you like to know what is in my box?

I treasure my mom’s favorite perfume for smell, a picture of my child taking his first steps for sight, a bubble wrap for touch, a piece of chocolate for taste, and I have my phone handy if I want to listen to nature sounds or music.

Happy creating my dears! Please, share with me what you come up with!
